Kathmandu ValleyCountry Highlights En Route

Kathmandu Valley

At the crossroads of the great civilizations of Asia, seven groups of Hindu and Buddhist monuments, as well as the three residential and palace areas of the royal cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, illustrate Nepalese art at its height. Among the 130 monuments are pilgrimage centres, temples, shrines, bathing sites and gardens - all sites of veneration for both religious groups.

Swyambhu Nath StupSwyambhu Nath Stup

The Monkey Temple is the first Buddhists Temple of Kathmandu; you can see the different kinds of statues of Buddha. Pashupatinath TempleAlso you can see the best views of Kathmandu valley and off course you can see the views of Langtang and Ganesh himal too.

Boudhanath Stupa is the largest stupa in the Valley. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design.

Pashupatinath Temple

One of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world. The richly ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. SadhusReligious pilgrims and sahdus, travel all the way from the remote areas of India to visit this sacred sight.

Chitwan National ParkChitwan National Park

This has long been one of the countrys treasures of natural wonders. At the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan is one of the few remaining undisturbed vestiges of the 'Terai' region, which formerly extended over the foothills of India and Nepal. It has a particularly rich flora and fauna. One of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros lives in the park, which is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal tiger

Whitewater Rafting in NepalWhitewater Rafting in Nepal

Whatever your desire for adventure, it is easy to find the perfect river in Nepal. With a wide range of difficulties from a gentle 2-day float down the Seti river, to an exhilarating 10-day adventure through the rapids of the remote Tamur and Karnali, there is an experience for everyone waiting in Nepal's famous white waters.

Annapurna Sanctuary

Annapurna Sanctuary

Clearly the most stunning of Pokhara's sights is the spectacular panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. Stretching from east to west, the Annapurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South. Although the highest among them is Annapurna I (8,091 m), it is Machhapuchhre which dominates all others in this neighborhood. Boastfully levitating in the skyline, the fish-tailed pinnacle is the archetypal snow-capped, needle-pointed mountain.

Sagarmatha National ParkSagarmatha National Park

Sagarmatha National Park

Sagarmatha is an exceptional area with dramatic mountains, glaciers and deep valleys, dominated by Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world (8,848 m). Several rare species, such as the snow leopard and the lesser panda, are found in the park. The presence of the Sherpas, with their unique culture, adds further interest to this site.
